Ryan Miyakawa
Staff Scientist
Ryan Miyakawa, Ph.D., is a Staff Scientist at CXRO where he leads research and development in extreme ultraviolet lithography (EUVL). His work focuses on advancing high-resolution imaging and patterning technologies for next-generation semiconductor manufacturing.
At CXRO, Ryan has played a central role in the development and operation of the Microfield Exposure Tool (MET5) and mask imaging systems. His research spans lithography, optical systems, diffractive optics, coherence and interferometry, wavefront metrology, and computational imaging techniques.
In addition to his scientific work, Ryan is deeply engaged in interdisciplinary innovation, applying computational and data-driven methods to complex physical systems. He is committed to mentoring students and early-career researchers and to fostering collaborations that push the boundaries of EUV and soft x-ray science.
Ryan received his Ph.D. in Applied Science and Technology with a focus on optical engineering from UC Berkeley in 2011, and his B.S. in Engineering Physics also from UC Berkeley in 2005.
